How Does Advanced Teeth Whitening Work?

There may be differences in the methods used by different professionals to whiten teeth. Professional teeth whitening procedures performed in-office go beyond simply cleaning the teeth. The system can significantly brighten the teeth’s color in just one consultation. Dentists may use gels, bleach pens, and specific toothpaste during bleaching operations. Carbamide peroxide is an oxidizing agent that can penetrate the dense tooth layers’ vital tissues using light, giving the teeth a lighter hue.

5 Most Famous Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures

What is a Cosmetic Dentist?

Cosmetic dentistry is a group of services dedicated to improving the appearance of your smile. A general dentist will check your teeth are healthy. On the other hand, a cosmetic dentist will confirm that your smile is perfect and provide you with a smile makeover. They can remove minor flaws and enhance the look of your smile.

A cosmetic dentist takes extra training specifically devoted to this group of treatments. If you think that a cosmetic dentist in Reno can improve the way you look by giving you a smile makeover. Our dentists have real-world experience in cosmetic dentistry, a vast technical understanding of how they work, and a creative touch.

5 Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures to Enhance Your Smile

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is one of the most usual cosmetic dentistry procedures, as you can see a world of distinction in your smile in just one session. Even if you take good supervision of your teeth, over time, dietary habits and lifestyle choices can drive your teeth to discolor and turn yellow. While teeth that aren’t bright & white aren’t a threat to your health, they can leave an impact on your self-esteem and confidence.

With teeth whitening, you have two options- a take-home kit or an in-office teeth whitening session by our professional dentist. Teeth whitening has proven good results for anyone who likes to look their best for a special event or who wants a brighter, more glowing smile.

Dental Implants

If you have a tooth that has dropped out or got extracted, you may want to consider getting dental implants.

Dental implants are also excellent for those who have dentures, as they let your dentures remain securely in position without falling or gliding around. The remarkable thing about dental implants is that once they’ve got fused to your jaw, they’re permanent and will never require to be replaced or restored.

Dental Veneers

Dental Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are put onto the front of your teeth to help cover up your flaws such as spaces, cracks, discoloration, or gaps. Veneers are not permanent but still, with proper care, can last up to a decade & can look completely natural, so no one will think that your smile is not fake.

Dental Crown

If you’ve just undergone a root canal, a dental crown can help get your smile back on the trail. A Crown is a cap put over your tooth to renew the tooth to its desired shape, size, and color. Also, many people get dental crowns for their worn, cracked, or weakened teeth.

Dental Bridge

A dental bridge is very identical to a dental crown. However, it varies as it has many teeth connected to create one completer restoration.

If you have an entirely missing tooth, you may be a suitable candidate for dental bridges.

Cosmetic Dentistry vs. General Dentistry In Reno

Cosmetic Dentistry vs. General Dentistry In Reno Hello, I’m Dr. Sykes Shane. Welcome to my Reno cosmetic dentistry blog. Today’s article focuses on the difference between general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry.

General dentists in Reno are dedicated to preventing and treating oral disease such as cavities and gum disease. When a problem is diagnosed, let’s say, a cavity between two teeth, a general dentist will assess the best way to restore the tooth involved.

Reno cosmetic dentists perform elective dental procedures that make a smile more attractive. Cosmetic dentistry procedures available at The Reno Dentist in Reno include teeth whitening, tooth-colored fillings, dental bonding, veneers, inlays, onlays, and dental crowns.

Some Reno dentists, like myself, offer both general and cosmetic dentistry procedures. In some cases, there is a cosmetic component to restorative procedures. For example, if a Reno dental patient comes in after receiving an injury that chipped a front tooth, the tooth needs to be restored to prevent decay. The tooth is also less structurally sound, so it is vulnerable to further damage. In addition, the tooth affects the overall appearance of the smile. Depending on the specifics of the damage, there are several of restorative options. Dental bonding, porcelain veneers, and crowns are all used to repair a damaged tooth.

As you can see, there is not always a definitive line between general and cosmetic dentistry. At The Reno Dentist, my knowledgeable team provides the full spectrum of preventative, restorative, and cosmetic dental procedures. We treat Sparks area patients of all ages: from toddlers just beginning to get their baby teeth to mature clients who remember the days when many people were afraid of dentists and their whiny drills. (Some of our wonderful elderly Reno patients have crowns that are twice as old as our hygienists.)

Experienced Reno dental professionals who perform pediatric, general, orthodontic, and cosmetic dental procedures can meet all of your families’ dental needs.

If you are looking for a full-service dental practice in the Sparks area, I invite you to come into The Reno Dentist in Reno, We are located at 855 W Seventh St Ste 200. To schedule an oral examination or smile makeover consultation, call 775-323-0700.

How Can You Improve Your Smile Quickly?

Porcelain Veneers With porcelain veneers, you can revamp your smile without significant restorative dental work.

Porcelain veneers are glass-like, wafer-thin covers that are attached to the front of your teeth. Porcelain has been used in dentistry for many years because no other restorative material is such an excellent match for natural tooth enamel. Porcelain is translucent and can be matched to the color of any tooth. It is stronger than enamel and resists stains.

Dental ceramists who fabricate porcelain veneers are both artists and technicians. They create beautiful paper-thin wafers that adhere to teeth, correcting chips and stains. Porcelain veneers can also straighten crooked teeth for patients who don’t need orthodontic work.

Patients who receive porcelain veneers appreciate the less-invasive process of enhancing their smile. Newer techniques require no removal of healthy tooth enamel.

We would be happy to show you what veneers can do for your smile.

The Reno Dentist is located at 855 W Seventh St Ste 200 in Reno. We provide skilled dental care for patients in the greater Sparks area. Our phone number is 775-323-0700. You can visit https://therenodentist.com/about/our-office/ for information about our practice and our knowledgeable team.

Mouthwash Facts In Reno

Hi, I am Dr. Shane Sykes and this is the The Reno Dentist blog. In today’s post I would like to discuss mouthwash. Many Nevada residents use mouthwashes to freshen their breath and help retard tooth decay. Mouthwash should never be used exclusively though, good oral hygiene starts with a thorough tooth brushing followed by flossing. Mouthwash is just a supplement in your dental hygiene tool box.

It is important for Nevada residents to know what kind of mouthwash they are using. Some mouthwashes merely mask bad breath while others help reduce the bacteria that causes plaque and bad breath.

If you are one of the Reno residents that suffers from bad breath it is important to choose a mouthwash that contains ingredients that help prevent tooth decay such as fluoride. But Nevada folks also need to use caution when using mouthwashes because many of the ingredients are dangerous when the recommended amount of mouthwash is exceeded.

Some of the poisonous components are chlorhexidine, gluconate, ethanol, hydrogen peroxide, and methyl salicylate. If you experience throat pain, vomiting, headache, or abdominal pain after using mouthwash, seek medical help immediately. The National Poison Control Center (1-800-222-1222) can answer questions if you feel have over used your mouthwash.

At The Reno Dentist we want everyone to have great smelling breath, but to use caution when treating their bad breath. Make sure to read your mouthwash label and follow all instructions given.

In addition to preventative dental care, The Reno Dentist offers a wide range of Spanish Springs cosmetic dentistry procedures. If you are a resident anxious to have a whiter, brighter smile, The Reno Dentist offers various teeth whitening in Reno options. The Reno Dentist also provide cosmetic dentistry and dental implants.

At The Reno Dentist we have been improving the smiles of residents in Reno, Sparks and the surrounding areas since 2011. Contact us today to schedule a consultation.
