$300 Whitening for a Cause
Our mouths and teeth work hard . Consider how much they do, day after day! It’s not surprising that problems arise sometimes. At The Reno Dentist we provide emergency dentistry, and are ready to treat a range of oral issues.
Here are three of the most common:
1. Abscessed Tooth
An abscess is a serious infection accompanied by pus, pain, and swelling. It occurs deep down in the root of a tooth. The infection can destroy tissue and even bone it left untreated.
A root canal procedure is used to remove an abscessed tooth root.
2. Knocked-out Tooth
This is one of the most serious dental emergencies. If it happens to you:
- Pick up the tooth by the crown (the chewing surface) NOT the root.
- If it’s dirty, carefully rinse the tooth with warm water, being careful not to remove any tissue attached.
- Gently place the tooth back in the socket promptly (if possible). If it’s a child with the injury, don’t risk swallowing or choking. Put the tooth in milk. Don’t use tap water.
- Make sure the tooth stays moist at all times.
Get to our office as soon as possible.
3. Painful Wisdom Teeth
Whether wisdom teeth have erupted or not, they can cause a lot of oral problems. They move around and bump into other teeth. They can be challenging to clean and increase the risk of tooth decay. They can become painful and inflamed. At The Reno Dentist, we treat wisdom teeth-related issues.
If you still have your wisdom teeth and want to avoid future problems, come into our office for an exam and consultation. We can take an X-ray and advise you on a course of action.
With prompt action, emergency dentistry from The Reno Dentist can make a difference in whether a damaged tooth is saved. People from Spanish Springs, Virginia City, and Carson City trust us in urgent situations, and also come to us for general and family dentistry. Schedule an appointment today!
